India is one of the most exciting places on earth to visit if you enjoy people, sacred sites and festivals. One year ago I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Maha Kumbh Mela, a Hindu pilgrimage where 660 million people (the largest gathering ever on earth) came to take a sacred dips in the convergence of three rivers in Prayagraj. This particular festival only takes place every 144 years according to celestial calendars. Since then I have had the opportunity to travel in other areas of India and explore indigenous communities and arts and crafts and stay in palaces and experience smaller, but vibrant festivals.
