Ireland

I found that my ancestors came from Ireland back in the mid 1700's to my home state of Virginia. I followed this connection by returning to Ireland and felt drawn to the deep spirituality of the people and the landscape. The openness and friendliness of the Irish led me to jump back and forth between landscape and portrait, each informing the other. There is an animation embedded in the images of the people that I photographed as well as mysterious energies in its weathered landscape that I found intriguing.
